Long-awaited holidays

This summer Lisa and John really needed their holidays. Last week they won the case on which they have been working all year for their law firm. They were exhausted and needed a break. Lisa booked one week in an hotel in Crete. Her husband did not care of the destination; he just wanted rest and sun. They arrived at night and went directly to their hotel on the harbor of Chinia. They were both delighted, Lisa found the place beautiful and very romantic and John enjoyed the calm of the city. On their first morning, they decided to go the beach next the hotel. It was like a poster card, Lisa stayed in the beach to get a tan while John went snorkeling. Suddenly, Lisa heard John screaming,, she stood up and saw John trying to get back on the beach. She ran to help him. John has been touched by a jellyfish on the leg, he was not able to use his leg and was screaming with pain, they nearly drowned. They wait on the beach the pain went down, and after they go back to their hotel, too angry and tired, to do anything else. They next day, they decided to visit the city and to taste the Italian atmosphere of Chinia. But once in the historic area, they were surrounded by a lot people, strangely dressed. Techno music was deafening and gay couples were dancing in the street. Lisa and John finally understood that they were in the middle of the gay pride of Chinia. John was feeling very uncomfortable, so their came back to their hotel and closed the window to avoid the noise. The third day, full of hope to have a good day, they rent a car to explore the area and to find a beach without jellyfish. They stopped in a small tavern to eat a greek salad. As they were finishing their meal, they heard screams outside. They ran outside with all the people in the restaurant to face an elephant in the street. Lisa and John were completely stunned in front of the tavern, watching people running away and the elephant crushing every car it met, one of whom was theirs. Later they heard at the radio that the elephant has been escaped from a zoo. They had had to take a taxi to come back to their hotel where they had a fight with the renting company which claimed that the insurance did not covert the destruction of the car by an animal. Finally, they paid the full price and promised to send their lawyers as soon as they come back. At the end of the day, they were more stressed and tired than before the trip and completely broke. They decided not to spend another day in this country, moved their plan ticket forward and stayed the rest of their holiday locked up in their apartment.
